Who we are

Window Film Compare is operated by BLTD, a trading name of Birmingham Property Management and Lettings Ltd (company number 10341210), whose registered office is 40 Popes Lane, Bournville, Birmingham, B30 1AY. The company is the data controller for information collected through this website before it is shared with a selected installer.

Information we collect

When you request a comparison, we may collect your name, company, email address, telephone number, site postcode, property and glazing details, measurements, project timing, notes, selected requirements and any photographs or drawings you upload. We also record the installer you select and technical information needed to operate and secure the website.

Installer applications

If you register interest as an installer, we collect your business and contact details, service area, experience, accreditations and any information you choose to include. We use this to assess your application, develop our provider network and contact you about a potential commercial relationship. We rely on taking steps at your request and our legitimate interests in operating the service.

How we use your information

• To calculate and display initial supplied-and-installed estimates.
• To save and administer your enquiry.
• To pass the enquiry to the installer you deliberately select.
• To respond to questions, investigate problems and prevent misuse.
• To improve the service using aggregated or appropriately minimised information.
• To send marketing only where you have separately chosen to receive it.

Our cookieless analytics records the page visited, the referring website’s hostname and selected quotation-stage events. It does not record IP addresses, device identifiers or the information entered in quotation forms.

Our lawful bases

We use information where it is necessary to take steps at your request and provide the comparison service; where it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website; where we must comply with a legal obligation; and, for optional marketing, where you have given consent. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Sharing with installers and suppliers

Your contact and project details remain with Window Film Compare until you select an installer. We then disclose the enquiry to that selected installer so they can confirm suitability, specification and a final quotation. We do not send the lead to every installer shown in the comparison.

Once an installer receives the enquiry, that company will normally act as an independent data controller for its own use. Its privacy policy will also apply. We may use service providers for hosting, storage, security and email delivery under appropriate contractual controls. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights.

How long we keep information

Unselected and selected enquiries, including uploaded files, are ordinarily retained for up to 24 months so we can administer the service, handle queries and maintain an audit trail. We may retain limited records for longer where reasonably necessary for legal claims, fraud prevention or regulatory obligations. Marketing records are kept until you unsubscribe or the information is no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer or an objection to its use. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Contact us using the address above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Some technology suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we use an applicable legal transfer mechanism or another permitted safeguard.
